Print Making

Ages: 9-12
Printmaking is a very old form of art practiced by masters of the past
and present. The fine detail quality of the technique allowed Albrecht
Durer to make his small and exquisite biblical scenes and Rembrandt
his well known portrait sketches. Still taught in universities today,
printmaking is a very expressive form of art. The process involves
carving a picture into a surface, rolling over it with ink, and
stamping it onto a paper to see the result. Students will learn how to
manipulate their pictures to create good composition, interesting
line, expressive form, and a harmonious balance in their final work.
Students will also explore the various methods of print making
including monoprints and engravings. This is a very fun and engaging
activity that even the youngest children would love.

for different poses.
